11-29-07: The new Emercy International Headquarters has now re-opened in Japan.

This statement of faith was approved on May 26, 2005 by Emercy's Board of Directors

We believe the Bible, as originally written, to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We affirm one God who exists in His threefold nature as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each with distinct personal attributes, without division of nature, essence or being.

We believe in the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe that turning to God in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are a necessary part of God's justification of the believer.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in His impartation of the spiritual gifts for today, and His transforming power as He produces the fruit of the Spirit in the lives of believers.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the local church as an assembly of baptized believers, of any number, committed to proclaiming and living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ under His Lordship.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that it is God's will for persons from every nation, tribe, people and language to share in worshiping and serving God throughout eternity. Thus, Jesus' command: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
