The Online MRC, www.missionaryresources.org, is a website provided by Emercy as a tool for missionaries to find quick answers to common questions as well as research more in-depth subjects such as renewable energy or church planting resources. The online MRC is provided as a supplement to Emercy's Missionary Resources Handbook that is scheduled for release in Fall 2003.
As Emercy provides missionaries with consulting support through its A2M project, we encounter many questions and issues raised that seem to be widely requested topics. For this reason, we catalog and store all of our common support issues in our website so that others can benefit from these research projects. Common issues include: shipping and freight, finances, renewable energy, drama techniques, ministry tools, language acquisition, and more.

The Handbook's primary purpose is to serve as a mirror to the hugely popular online resoruce center: www.missionaryresources.org. The handbook covers all of the topics listed in the website, and provides greater flexibility for missionaries with limited internet access, serving as a field manual for many day-to-day missionary needs.

Emercy operates a resources warehouse to store goods, sort them, and ship them to areas in need. Each year Emercy operates a fundraiser garage sale and sends the remaining clothes to the warehouse, where they are shipped to the needy all over the world. Missionaries with an EmercyCARD can request a free tour and take any goods they wish, free of charge. Common goods include medicines, tracts, videos, Bibles, and communications equipment.
Due to the technology differences between the US and third world countries, there are many items that become obsolete in the US and are still highly valued in other countries. Emercy seeks these items out and stores them in its warehouse until it can find the need on the missions field. It's not always technology that causes items to be donated. Many goods such as guitars, radios, medical supplies (i.e. casts and knee braces), flashlights, lamps, duffel bags, etc. are commonly passing through the warehouse. We plan to soon post a listing of commonly needed items on the mission field that you can donate to the warehouse.
